Performing Gender International Symposium

Bologna, 26-28 March 2015
MAMbo – Museo d’Arte Moderna di Bologna and Cassero LGBT Center

In 2013 Performing Gender challenged 17 artists from the Netherlands, Croatia, Spain and Italy to create new works, representing through dance and art the beauty of different identities and the diverse points of view on sexuality and gender.

During the following two years, workshops, residencies and performances have been host by important contemporary art museums. The artists have drawn a wide picture, a kaleidoscope, in which the differences of gender and sexual orientations are seen as assets, bases of a new social dialogue for the entire European community.

To celebrate this experience, Performing Gender is organising an International Symposium: 3 days of performances and meetings to retrace the activities of the project, enlight its most important outcomes and lay the foundations for future developments.
